Bräntings Bränneri is a young small scale whisky distillery just outside the village of Bunge, Gotland. The distillery is located in an old military bunker, surrounded by the magic nature of northern gotland.
WE PRODUCE SMALL BATCHES OF LIMITED EDITION WHISKIES, WORKING WITH DIFFERENT MALTS AND AGING CASKS. our aim is to find the best raw material for the taste we want to achieve.
so far we have created three different blended malts: 01 – THREE OAKS WHISKY, 02 – winter blend whisky and 03 – bunge oak whisky. The two first ones are sold out, but you can still get your hands on a bottle of Bunge oak from systembolaget, tm kvalitetsviner or keges.
our copper pot still is handmade in portugal. We think it’s beautiful! It’s working hard to produce our own single malt whisky. for that we use lightly peated malted barley from gotland, and we are delighted with the result. needs a few years in the casks though.
in the meantime we’re perfecting the art of cask management, as this is where 70–80% of the taste of whisky is coming from (and 100% of the colour!). we have new american, french and swedish oak casks, ex-bourbon, ex-rum and ex-sherry casks. All give different character to the new make, and blending these together is a very interesting process.
